Lake Goodwin

Lake Goodwin – A Year-Round Bass Fishing Destination

Lake Goodwin offers exciting fishing opportunities throughout the entire year. Whether you’re new to bass fishing or looking to sharpen your skills, this Snohomish County lake delivers both action and variety. Although it isn’t Washington’s largest lake, its fishing potential is huge—especially when you’re after smallmouth bass.

Lake Goodwin

Located just three miles east of Puget Sound and north of the Tulalip Reservation, Lake Goodwin is located in a convenient, scenic spot. The lake is easy to access from East Lake Goodwin Road, where the only boat ramp is located near the southern end. In contrast, the public day-use park sits at the northern tip, offering a quiet place to relax before or after your trip.

Why Fish Lake Goodwin?

Although the lake spans a modest size, it holds enough structure and shoreline to keep anglers busy for days. In fact, many experienced bass anglers still haven’t fished every corner. This lake has a variety of cover. The lake includes docks, points, and vegetation, and fish spread out across these areas. As a result, you can always find something biting, regardless of the season.

At 365 Charters, we primarily target smallmouth bass, though largemouth bass occasionally join the action. Additionally, other species such as yellow perch, black crappie, green sunfish, and rainbow trout also inhabit the lake. However, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) regulations apply, so not all fish can be retained. We only catch-and-release bass.

Best Time to Fish

Lake Goodwin

Although we fish this lake year-round, May is one of the best months to sight-fish for smallmouth bass. During this period, bass are on their spawning beds, and the action can be fast and consistent. From pre-spawn in early spring to deep winter patterns, Lake Goodwin provides an excellent opportunity to learn seasonal bass techniques.

Fish by Boat

Lake Goodwin has very limited bank access. Fishing is almost exclusively done by boat. That’s why the majority of our half-day bass fishing trips take place here. Whether you’re learning to run a boat or just want to improve your casting, this lake is a perfect starting point.
