The Pacific Northwest has been a destination for anglers for well over a century. The Columbia River was well-known in the late 19th century. However that was just the beginning of Pacific Northwest destination travel. The Northwest has many other outdoor opportunities, producing memories to last a lifetime.
Organizations which we hold active memberships endeavor to protect and enhance Washington’s excellent fishing for you to enjoy.
While the Washington State Guides Association is concerned with fisheries statewide that affect fishing guides and charters, the Charterboat Association of Puget Sound is concerned with fishery issues in Puget Sound. NACO promotes sport fishing throughout the United States coastal waters.
The Washington State Guides Association. (WSGA) is comprised of professional licensed fishing guides & charter operators throughout Washington state. We have members who fly-fish, conventional gear fish, work from a drift boat, river sled, or larger charter boats. We even have members who provide walk in fishing services. WSGA believes there is no one fishery in Washington state which is more important than the other. We represent the entire state in regards to sport fishing guides and charters who operate all about the State of Washington.
Charterboat Association of Puget Sound (CAPS).
CAPS is a regional non-profit organization consisting of Charterboat owners and operators, who operate on Puget Sound from ports such as Olympia, Seattle, Edmonds, Everett, Anacortes, Bellingham and west to Neah Bay. CAPS has specific requirements to become a member. 1. Valid US Coast Guard License 2. WDFW salmon charter license for the boat. 3. Proof of liability Insurance.
National Association of Charterboat Operators (NACO).
NACO is the National Association of Charterboat Owners and Operators that was formed in 1991. Representing thousands of individuals all across the United States, our membership includes marine charters who provide fishing, sailing, diving, eco-tours, and other excursion vessels who carry passengers for hire. As the premiere Association that represents charter boat interests, our objective is to improve the professional charter boat operator’s bottom line and to provide a strong voice in Washington, DC.
